Princess & the Pea Styled Bridal Shoot – Part One

The latest in my range of Fairytale shoots is Princess & the Pea which was my favourite and most detailed so far!

Princess & The Pea - 263

For the Princess & the Pea wedding I wanted to create an outdoor scene that was a home from home, so it seemed the only logical thing to do was to build the different rooms of a house under the branches of a huge tree!  There was of course the bedroom scene with the stack of mattresses, a living room scene and a dining room scene where I dressed a table for a wedding breakfast.

Because there are just too many lovely images to share with you I have split the shoot in two.  Today I am showing you the overall set, dress & grooms suit – next week I will go into more detail and show you the flowers, stationery, cake, food and accessories that helped to create the different scenes.

The location for the shoot was Milton Hill House Hotel, Steventon.  This fabulous venue has huge grounds with so many interesting features that are a wedding photographers delight, like this run down hut in the back field that is used as a tool shed!

Perfect for a lovers retreat!

Our beautiful bride for the shoot had a natural look for her make up and I was thrilled with the look created by Melissa.

Her hair was created by Perfectly Posh Hair Design who perfected the look with flowing natural waves mixed with lots height on the top – just stunning.

Our groom had us all a bit giddy – he was gorgeous.  Dressed by the uber stylish Clements & Church he was, head to toe, the perfect country gentleman.

The set was full of fun with stacked mattresses covered in different bedspreads underneath the huge canopy of the tree with an eclectic mixture of lampshades hanging from them.

The front room had a comfy arm chair and standard lamp – perfect for a cuddle with a good book!

The dining room was a vintage mix of furniture and a cluttered array of flowers, coloured glass and accessories.

Strips of coloured fabric were used to separate the different scenes and looked great when the wind was blowing through them.

The brides dress was a long boho style with some simple detailing around the waist – it worked really well with our country theme.

I want to fill my house with these books!
