My last photoshoot of the year was the Little Mermaid and boy, did we go out with a bang. We were lucky enough to have the beautiful Megan (from Briar Rose blog) as our Ariel and her husband as her Eric. This epic shoot took place on a beautiful sunny day along the dramatic coastline of Durdle Door on the Lulworth Estate in Dorset. We thrilled the onlooking tourists when they got to see a real life mermaid on the beach and caught many of the after the shoot taking selfies against our ceremony backdrop!
Put your feet up and enjoy the stunning images from the shoot and imagine just for one moment that it is a warm sunny day and you have sand between your toes!
Our story begins with Ariel leaving her home, the sea, to come on land in search of her prince. Her beautiful tail shimmers in the sun and reflects the sea lapping around her. Our hero, Eric, comes to her rescue to carry her to their wedding!
The backdrop for their ceremony was an archway made out of blue, green and white balloons with matching streamers that looked fabulous blowing in the breeze against the rock face.
The wedding breakfast table was covered in a silver sequin table cloth and covered in a mix of flowers in colours to complement to seaside backdrop. Hidden in amongst the flowers were glittered seashells that added a touch of nautical glamour.
The crockery kept in the with sea theme and seashells adorned the napkins, they were also used as placenames. The glassware was a mix of green shades in varying heights and textures.
Guests were invited to the ceremony with a ‘message in a bottle’ washed up on the beach and the table plan was made from miniature bottles filled with glitter with card name tags – perfect as a keepsake for the guests.
The bride’s bouquet was made from seashells, a sea horse and even a crab – they were surrounded by pearls and gems that tied in with the colours worn by the bride.
The sea inspired cake was covered in even more seashells and topped by a clam shell with pearls.
And as in all good fairytales our couple lived happily ever after in a grand castle!
As always our Dream Team of suppliers went over and above in their creative design and made this shoot a dream come true!
