Last week I was introduced to the Brighton wedding scene with a bang at the Oh My Honey Launch Party for the 2016 Spring collection.
The local glitterati turned out in their finest at the imposing One Church Brighton, decorated with coloured drapes, fairy lights and huge light up ‘Oh My Honey’ letters. After a welcome drink from The Old Tree Brewery and some light up candy floss (yes, you heard right!) from the delightful Candy Queens, the stage was set for the fashion show hosted by the fabulous Dawn Gracie.
Dresses with frothy petticoats and layers of tulle, mixed with gold sequins, glitter and bead work sparkled under the stage lights. The dresses were a mix of fun and eccentric, and old school Hollywood glamour and elegant silhouettes. Full circle skirts dominated the show, but surprise designs in full length ombré tulle, a feathered fishtail and glamorous two layer fitted dress with removable outer skirt surprised and enchanted the audience.
Designer Louise says ‘I designed these dresses for the fun loving bride, those who want to wear something unique to represent their personality. They take a strong influence from the 1950’s classic styles, whilst also being exceptionally flattering on today’s figure. I wanted to create wedding dresses that make a bride feel beautiful, whilst allowing them to project their own unique character.’
There are 12 dresses in the collection, with prices ranging from £350 to £990, so there is something for every budget.
